ARF Voices for a Vaccine Screening

Rachel Zoe, star of The Rachel Zoe Project, celebrity stylist and fierce fashionista, teamed up with HIV activist Fortunata Kasege for a new public service announcement for the Abzyme Research Foundation (ARF). The collaboration marks the first video in a yearlong series for ARF’s Voices for a Vaccine campaign.

ARF is promoting research and testing for a therapeutic HIV vaccine using abzymes, also known as “super antibodies.” In order to propel this scientific approach into human trials, ARF hopes to raise $1.5 million throughout 2012, and big celebrity names will be on hand to help.

The PSA was screened at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City. ARF is the first philanthropic cause to which Zoe has lent her name. But she is no stranger to lending support and contributions to communities in need. Recently, at the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center’s evening honoring the celebrity stylist, she said, “The gay and lesbian community for me is family, so I will do anything and everything. You know, I have done campaigns; I am really behind an AIDS vaccine. It’s very close to my heart.”
