Antioco Carrillo has been named executive director of Aid for AIDS of Nevada, effective January 1.
Carrillo has 17 years of experience in the field of HIV/AIDS services, having helped develop several HIV prevention and treatment methods as well as working with federal, state and local organizations to obtain funding for HIV/AIDS and substance abuse services in southern Nevada.
He previously served as the chief operating officer of the Community Counseling Center of Southern Nevada. And he currently teaches part-time at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas School of Social Work.
Founded in 1984, Aid for AIDS of Nevada is an HIV/AIDS support and advocacy organization supporting more than 3,500 clients in southern Nevada.
