Amna Osman is the new director of the MDCH-Division of Health, Wellness and Disease Control (DHWDC). She began on September 8 serving in her new position, housed in the Lansing Washington Square Building.
Osman has a Masters in Public Administration, a wide range of experience in the provision of AIDS prevention and care services, international experience with the National Association of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) and, as a consultant, has provided coaching and training workshops to human services professionals. She also served as a member of the Michigan HIV/AIDS Council (MHAC) and as co-chair of what is currently the African American AIDS Advisory Committee of the Council.
Prior to her appointment with the state, Osman served as the executive director of Wellness AIDS Services, in Flint. Osman also continues to instruct a variety of courses at Baker College in Flint.
