The White House announced today, February 26, that Jeffrey Crowley will be the director of the Office of National AIDS Policy, Reuters reports.
According to the article, Crowley is a senior research scholar at Georgetown University’s Health Policy Institute. Under his new post, he will coordinate the federal government’s efforts to reduce the number of new HIV infections in the United States. Crowley was formerly the executive director for programs at the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA) in Washington, DC.
“Jeffrey Crowley brings the experience and expertise that will help our nation address the ongoing HIV/AIDS crisis and help my administration develop policies that will serve Americans with disabilities,” Obama said in a statement.
