Dr. Jorge A. Delgado joins the National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC) as Assistant Director of Government Relations and Public Policy (GRPP), where he will advance and support NMAC’s HIV/AIDS policy programs, particularly in Latino communities throughout the United States and its territories.
Ravinia Hayes-Cozier, Director of NMAC’s GRPP Division, says: “We are honored to have Dr. Delgado join our staff. He brings more than 20 years of administrative experience to NMAC, including expertise in HIV/AIDS health services administration field.”
Delgado most recently served as Deputy Secretary for HIV/AIDS Programs with the Puerto Rico Department of Health, where he monitored and implemented HIV/AIDS public policies involving the improvement of health programs and housing for people living with HIV/AIDS, as well as served as a liaison between the Department of Health and Puerto Rico’s community-based organizations and AIDS service organizations.
Prior to joining the HIV/AIDS field, Delgado worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District for over sixteen years and volunteered for different AIDS service organizations, including: Bienestar Latino AIDS Project, Metropolitan Community Church HIV/AIDS Ministries, AIDS Walk, AIDS RIDE, and AIDS Project Los Angeles.
